Client: Rural Health Redesign Center
Funder: Health Services and Resource Administration (Federal)
Amount: $2,500,000 per year (5 years)
Number of Awards: 1
Overview:
In September 2022, the Health Resources and Services Administration awarded the Rural Health Redesign Center (RHRC) a $2.5 million/year, five-year cooperative agreement to provide technical assistance to rural hospitals exploring the new Rural Emergency Hospital (REH) designation.
How We Helped:
We worked closely with RHRC to craft a comprehensive, compelling grant application that clearly demonstrated their capacity and vision to support hospitals across the country. With only one cooperative agreement to be awarded, the application was highly competitive. By translating RHRC’s goals into a structured, persuasive proposal, we helped secure funding that enables hospitals to navigate the REH designation and continue providing essential services.
Our team also helped with initial implementation of the project upon award, as well as provided ongoing support for grant reporting and compliance requirements. We continue to support RHRC with their grant writing and RFP needs.
Impact:
This funding strengthens rural healthcare nationwide, giving hospitals the tools and guidance they need to adopt the REH model and ensure communities have access to critical emergency and inpatient care. Since award, the RHRC has provided support to over 200 rural hospitals prospective and converted REHs across the country.
You can read more about the implementation of this project from the RHRC's website.
